Reinstatement services, $59, or do it yourself?

Three ways to answer a Google Play developer account termination, side by side. Google's appeal form is free, takes 1,000 characters, and you submit it yourself whichever route you pick. The question is only who writes those 1,000 characters and what they check first.

Service prices read on one reinstatement company's pricing page on 16 October 2026 (“Basic Appeal $199 USD”, “Appeal Package 2 $399 USD”, “Complex Case $2,500 USD”; “Your initial written assessment is free. Paid support does not guarantee a platform decision.”). Prices change; the company is not named. The table scrolls sideways on a phone.

Which one, honestly

Do it yourself if your notice names one policy you understand, you have one account and one app, and nothing in your past (an old account, a shared card, a co-founder's console) could read as a related account. Use the three sample appeals as the shape and keep the ask near the top.

Play Appeal if the notice says “high-risk behaviour” or “associated with a previously terminated account” and you don't know why, or you do know why and the honest version is awkward to write. The policy diagnosis and the related-account check are the part most people skip, and the appeal form reads that answer every time. You get the 1,000 characters plus the evidence map, in a day, and one rewrite if Google says no.

A $199–$399 service if you run a business with several developer accounts, revenue on the line and a case that may need weeks of back-and-forth. You are paying for a company to stay on it, not for a better 1,000 characters.

What none of the three can do

Reinstate the account. Only Google does that, and Google says the same thing on every denial: that it reviewed the appeal and cannot reinstate the account. Anyone who promises reinstatement is selling the promise. Nor can any route open you a new account: Google's policy bars a terminated developer from a new one and links accounts by payment method, device, phone number, address and people.

The one deadline that matters

Google's Play Console Help page “Account termination appeal time limit” says that for terminations on or after 28 January 2026 you must appeal within 180 days of the termination date; after that “we consider the matter closed and the option to appeal will no longer be available.” Whichever route you take, take it inside that window. Our appeal is back in 1 day.

Questions

How much does a Google Play account reinstatement service cost?
On the pricing page of one reinstatement company we read on 16 October 2026: a basic appeal at $199, an appeal package at $399 and a “complex case” tier at $2,500, each with scope confirmed in writing first and no guarantee of Google's decision. Google's own appeal is free. Play Appeal writes the appeal from your facts for $59 (£49 incl. VAT, A$89, C$79).

Can a service submit the appeal to Google for me?
No. The appeal goes through your own Play Console (Policy status → Appeal) or the appeal form linked from Google's termination email, signed in as you. Every route ends with you pasting 1,000 characters and pressing submit.

Is a $59 appeal worse than a $399 one?
Google reads 1,000 characters either way. What changes the answer is whether those characters name the account and the notice, answer the related-account question, name the likely policy and the fix with dates, and ask for a human review. The higher price buys a company that stays on a long case, which matters for a business with several accounts, not for one developer with one app.

What if I already appealed and was denied?
Read our page on what to do after a denial: whether a reply with new information is open to you, what counts as new information, and what never works (a new account, a repeat of the first appeal). Play Appeal includes one free rewrite from the denial's words.

How long do I have to appeal?
Google's help page says 180 days from the termination date for terminations on or after 28 January 2026; after that the matter is closed. Appeal early: our appeal is back within 1 day of payment.

Google decides and its appeal is free; no company can reinstate an account for you. Prices of other services are as read on their own pages on 16 October 2026 and change; the services are not named. Nothing here is legal advice. Not affiliated with Google or Google Play.
